Kinds of ferrous sulphate

The most common commercially available forms of ferrous sulphate are the heptahydrate and the monohydrate. The heptahydrate is a secondary product from either the steel industry or the titanium pigment industry. The monohydrate is either made by thermal drying of the heptahydrate (‘thermal mono’) or directly formed at the titanium pigment plant as ‘chemical mono’, also called filtersalz.
